Why Trusted Regina Fireplace Experts at Wheatland Fireplace, Kitchen & Bath Recommend Converting to an Amantii Electric Fireplace

Your first step into the beautiful Wheatland Fireplace Kitchen & Bath Regina showroom will help you understand why Wheatland Fireplace has been given the Thumbs up by Trusted Regina as your exclusive Trusted Regina fireplace store. Wheatland loves their customers and as a result, their customers love and TRUST them. In their latest fireplace tip, they recommend converting to an Amantii electric fireplace.

Covert to an Amantii Electric Fireplace

Now it’s easier than ever to convert an old wood or gas fireplace into an electric fireplace. Even brick fireplaces are easily converted to the clean look of an Amantii insert. The beauty of having an insert is that you can use Amantii inserts any time of year, with or without heat, to create the desired mood.

Choosing the Right Amantii Model

Ensuring your customers get the right model for their home/office is simple. Explain to your customers that an electric insert is basically a retrofit of their existing fireplace. Find out how wide and how high their opening is. These two measurements are critical when picking the right insert. Then take into account the size of the room and help them choose the best insert for their needs. There are six styles to fit almost any dimension.

Amantii's TRD Inserts

Amantii’s TRD inserts have a contemporary clean look and are available with three or four-sided trim kits. Unit sizes are 26”, 30”, 33”, and 38”. All Amantii TRD inserts are rated for indoor and outdoor use.

The beauty of an Amantii insert is they come with state-of-the-art Fire and Ice® flame sets. Your customers can change the look of their flames from traditional red to more contemporary colours like blue, violet, purple and rose. They also have realistic birch logs to give the look and feel of a freshly lit fireplace. Amantii’s TRD inserts can produce up to 1200W 4096 BTU heat. The two-stage heater comes with a cord and is hard-wire ready. The heater itself is located inside, on the top of the unit, which allows heat to cascade down the glass. Hidden venting creates a true, clean appearance.

When heat isn’t required, a simple click on the remote control turns off the heat, leaving the room bathed in firelight without heat. Something that can’t be done with a wood or gas fireplace.

Sierra Flame INS Inserts

The INS-FM-30 and 34 electric inserts have the same surround as the TDS series; however, the black sheet steel overlay is larger. This style’s heavier look is versatile and can go with almost any room size, decor, and furnishings. Customers love the look of the gradient flames and the realistic traditional log set.

Flame height and intensity are controlled via remote control with the heat vented upwards and can heat up to a 500 sq ft. room. This series has no grills and the latest LED light technology with four-stage front and four-stage back internal backlighting. Like the Amantii series, these Sierra Flame inserts operate with or without heat and are controlled by the remote. It’s an easy and effective way to convert to an electric fireplace.

Campbell & Haliburton Trusted Regina Insurance Brokers Tip On Preventing Ice dams

In their latest Trusted Regina Insurance Tip, they share a tip on preventing ice dams on your Regina property.

Winter is here and as a homeowner, it’s important to check your property for issues and commit to regular preventative maintenance. Doing this will save you stress and money in the long term. In our latest Campbell & Halliburton Regina home insurance tip, we share important information from SGI regarding ice dams.

Spotting and Preventing Ice Dams – Tips and Information From Campbell & Haliburton Insurance

Freeze, thaw, freeze, thaw – those are the ideal conditions to make an ice dam. And that’s something we know you don’t want. Ice dams will cause a lot of damage to the walls, ceiling and insulation of your home. They may even lead to mould.

With the weather cycle we’re currently experiencing, we’ve put together some information to help you prevent major ice damming problems in your home.

What’s an ice dam?

Ice dams are caused by on- and off-periods of melting and freezing. Snow becomes a layer of insulation on your roof, which warms up the air in your attic. Your warm attic then causes the snow to melt and roll down to the edge of the roof and the soffits. Unless the melted snow is able to drain properly, it will freeze and build up over time creating ice dams.

Throughout the winter, if this weather cycle keeps going and the ice dams spread up the roof, water will eventually work its way under your shingles and get into your attic. The water can seep into your insulation causing it to fail. As a result, warm air from your home will rise into your attic making the ice dam grow.

icicles in roof cause ice dam issuesIce damming is a vicious cycle. If you don’t take care of it right away, it’s going to get worse. Over time, wet surfaces attract mould, which causes breathing problems and makes repairs much more expensive and labour intensive.

4 tips to prevent ice damming

Keep the snow load down

You should always keep the snow load on your roof to a minimum to prevent it from causing an ice dam. However, we don’t recommend climbing on top of the roof yourself. Use a roof rake or hire a professional to clear away excess snow. Read SGI tips for using a roof rake.

Clear your gutters and downspouts

Melting snow and icy water need somewhere to go. Clean leaves out of your downspouts and gutters in the fall and then dispose of ice, snow and gunk regularly throughout the winter. Break off any icicles that develop around the roof of your home.

Keep the air moving in your attic

Your attic needs good insulation and ventilation. Without it, the heat inside your home will leak into the attic and cause the snow on the roof to melt. We recommend bringing in a roofing contractor to make sure the airflow is working properly.

Make sure fans and venting are well-sealed

Many homes have exhaust fans, air ducts, chimneys, attic hatches and pipes – and many of these are vented into the attic. They’re designed to move airflow properly but if they aren’t sealed well, extra air can escape around them. We recommend getting into your attic and checking the seals. If they need help, you can fix them yourself or hire a professional to take care of them for you. Good seals will also save you money by keeping your house warmer and preventing your furnace from working as hard to heat it.

As you walk out of our door, you can do so with the assurance that you are covered with the home insurance that best meets your needs. If you don’t have an insurance broker and want to talk to someone who is truly passionate about your insurance, contact us at Campbell & Haliburton Insurance. We would love to help you.

Bergens AutoBody Trusted Regina Auto Body Tip On Collision Avoidance Technology

Bergens Auto Body is a Regina family collision repair and auto body shop and from the moment you call you will be treated like family! Collision- avoidance is advanced technology available on an ever-growing range of vehicles.

Could you ever have imagined a time in your life when your car would be able to “see” other vehicles or pedestrians?  This amazing technology is now readily available, and that means many new cars and trucks can now anticipate collisions, and automatically apply the brakes or take corrective steering actions!!

Some of these capabilities, such as forward-collision warning systems, have been around for a few years, mostly on high-end luxury cars. Others, like steering assist, are just getting added. We are happy to share that collision-avoidance systems are getting better and are spreading to mainstream cars.

Radar, Cameras and Lasers Utilized in Collision Avoidance Systems

These cutting-edge active safety systems rely on a number of sensors, cameras, lasers, and short- and long-range radar. They monitor what is going on around the vehicle—vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and even road signs—as well as the vehicle itself. Inputs are processed by computers, which then prompt some action from the car or the driver. Those actions may start with attention-grabbers, such as a beep, a flashing dashboard icon, a tug from the seatbelt, or a vibration in the seat or steering wheel. If the driver doesn’t respond, the more advanced systems then apply partial or full braking force. If a warning system emits too many inappropriate alerts, however, then there is an increasing temptation to switch it off.

“In the end, these systems can do a lot of good in preventing crashes from happening in the first place. But it’s still very important for drivers to realize that no matter how much collision-avoidance technology is on your vehicle it never reduces the need to stay alert at all time.” Jon Bergen
