MERRY MAIDS OF REGINA our TRUSTED REGINA MAID SERVICE AND HOME CLEANING EXPERTS share Trusted cleaning tips!

posted by Trusted Regina    |   April 29, 2012 13:40

Give yourself one less thing to worry about and one more thing to enjoy...a nice clean house! That's what Brian, Aaron, and the staff at Merry Maids of Regina strive to provide for their clients...a clean house and a stress free experience!

Merry Maids are your local TRUSTED REGINA home cleaning experts and here they share their first Trusted Tip

Merry Maids Cleaning Tips 1-3

Metry Maids as a company has over 30 years in the house cleaning business. Cleaning over 300,000 homes, apartments and condos each month and with 8,000 plus home cleaning specialists so they most likely have the answers to your cleaning questions.

If you have a question about cleaning, contact Regina Merry Maids, or view our 1st round of cleaning tips below.

Ceramic tile floors

No need to wax.. Just sweep and mop on a regular basis and they stay clean and shiny. Mop floors with clear water or just a dash of liquid dish soap. Be sure to change the water when it gets cloudy. Too much soap or dirty water will make floors dull or sticky. Don’t use scrub pads on ceramic tile floors or you might scratch them. Our professional cleaners wash most floors by hand, cleaning and drying a small area at a time.

Grout

Old grout may need cleaning with a wax stripper or heavy-duty cleaner plus a grout brush. Use a bleaching cleanser on tough spots. Once the grout is as clean as you can get it, rinse it well. When it’s thoroughly dry, apply a coat of masonry sealer so that it doesn’t absorb dirt in the future. For mildewed grout in tubs or showers, use a grout brush with a 1:5 solution of chlorine bleach and water. Never use bleach in combination with any ammonia-based product and be sure the area is well-ventilated. When you’ve finished cleaning, rinse the area well to remove all traces of bleach. Clean colored grout with a heavy-duty cleaner and a grout brush, but don’t use bleach because this may remove the color from the grout. Be sure never to use a bleaching solution on colored grout. A masonry sealer can be applied to clean, colored grout to ward off future stains.

Hard water spots

Hard-water deposits are alkaline, so an acid-based cleaner is the best way to clean them. Phosphoric acid works well and is safe for most surfaces. Grocery store cleansers with phosphoric acid contain 4 percent to 6 percent acid. You can purchase lime scale removers at janitorial supply stores that contain 8 percent to 12 percent acid to get the job done faster. A higher concentration of acid is safe on most household surfaces as long as you rinse the surface to remove all traces of the acid after the cleaning is complete. Let the acid sit for a few minutes after you apply it to let it work. Tough hard-water deposits may take more than one application. Scrub the applied areas with a white, nylon-backed scrub sponge. Make sure you read any manufacturer’s warnings before applying phosphoric acid solutions to surfaces in your home.

NORTH ALBERT TREAD QUARTERS REGINA AUTO REPAIR & SERVICE EXPERTS share a Trusted Tip on the Regina Drectory

posted by Trusted Regina    |   April 26, 2012 18:05

North Albert TreadQuarters is a service oriented business where your complete satisfaction is their goal. Stu and his loyal team of certified and trained REGINA AUTO REPAIR & SERVICE technicians are well equipped to repair your vehicle and get you back on the road. You not only get excellent customer service when you take your vehicle in for repair or service at North Albert TreadQuarters, but you can also rest easy that the job will be done right.

Stu (aka Mayor Stu) the Manager of NorthAlbert Treadquarters shares his First Trusted Tip!

Tread Quarters –Mayor Stu the Car Guy Tip 1

Every season in Saskatchewan brings with it its own set of truly unique challenges. Every vehicle on the road is as unique as the person behind the wheel. The Team at Treadquarters take the time to evaluate your needs as well as those of the vehicle you drive and tailor your maintenance plan to save you money and the costly down time associated with unexpected break down!

Below are some of the questions I’ve been asked in my Twenty plus years as an Automotive Professional:

What do I have to do for my car to get it ready for Spring?

I always recommend regardless of the km travelled to change the oil and have a complete inspection!

Do I need to have it cleaned? It is a great idea to protect your investment by having your car professionally cleaned. Corrosion from the salt and harsh winter temperature are hard on the interiors and exteriors. A thorough cleaning inside and out removes contaminants and leaves your car ready for a fun and trouble free summer!

How soon do I have to remove my winter tires?

Temperature is the enemy of modern day winter tires. They are made up of a softer and pliable compound that wears prematurely in above zero temps!

How do I go Green and do my part?

Keep your car in top notch condition. Perform manufacturer recommended services. These recommendations help fuel economy, maintain your warranty reduce your carbon footprint and help the resale value of your baby!

What is a Tuneup?

A tuneup these days is a very broad term. Tuneups on gasoline powered vehicles differ from those of diesels and Hybrids. Gasoline vehicle require ignition parts and fuel system servicing to not only keep the car running well but to also help with fuel economy up and emissions down! Diesels require injector servicing, filters and intake/egr cleaning. Hybrid components are pretty much built to be maintenance friendly as recommended by the manufacturer.

Please contact me at northalbertauto.tire@gmail.com   attention Mayor Stu the Carguy if you have any questions or topic you would like to discuss on further blogs. Cheers Mayor Stu!

REGINA HEALTH EXPERT provides a TRUSTED TIP on NON SURGICAL Cosmetic Treatments on the REGINA DIRECTORY

posted by Trusted Regina    |   April 24, 2012 10:23

REGINA HEALTH & WELLNESS and REGINA MEDICAL TOURISM experts.

 NON  SURGICAL Cosmetic Treatments

Do you find that flaws in your appearance stand in the way of your confidence?

A non-surgical cosmetic procedure may be the solution you are looking for to improve your self-esteem!

Botox treatments, laser treatments, and Restylane treatments to enhance your natural appearance. What is Botox?

Botox is a drug made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. It’s the same toxin that causes a life-threatening type of food poisoning called botulism. Doctors use it in small doses to treat health problems, including: temporary removal of facial wrinkles, severe underarm sweating, cervical dystonia, uncontrollable blinking, and misaligned eyes. Botox injections work by weakening or paralyzing certain muscles or by blocking certain nerves. Side effects can include pain at the injection site, flu-like symptoms, headache and upset stomach. Injections in the face may also cause temporary drooping eyelids. You should not use Botox if you are pregnant or breast feeding. ( See the You Tube Video below for a Demonstration- and before and after shots)

What are Laser Treatments?

Laser treatment is a popular non-surgical way to deal with various skin conditions. Laser treatments provide effective lasting results. These treatment sessions take various times and allow you to return to work or daily activities immediately after a session. While some patients may be able to tolerate a laser treatment without the use of anaesthetic, others may find the application of an anaesthetic cream helpful. The anaesthetic cream can provide adequate relief from discomfort during the procedure. Fortunately, the complications of laser hair removal are rare if it's done by an experienced and skilled physician. You should expect a certain degree of pain, swelling and redness after each treatment session.

What is Restylane?

Restylane is a temporary injectable that consists of a stabilized hyaluronic acid and a physiological sodium chloride solution. Restylane is a gel that is injected into the skin to add volume to lips and lift wrinkles and folds. Restylane consists of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance already present in your body. Once in the skin, Restylane works by creating volume. Restylane can be used to smooth wrinkles, enhance lips and shape facial contours. The most common areas are the glabella lines (between the eyebrows), the nasolabial folds (from the bottom of the nose to the corner of the mouth) and the lips, although other sites can also be treated. During treatment, crystal-clear Restylane gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The gel produces volume under the wrinkle, which is lifted and smoothed. The procedure is simple and results are practically instantaneous. To optimize your comfort during the procedure, your physician may anesthetise the treatment area. Restylane dissolves naturally with time, and a follow up treatment will be needed if you want to maintain the results. Restylane, like many non-surgical procedures, does not have to be performed by a plastic surgeon, but care should be taken when choosing a clinic.

There is no reason to feel anything less than your best!

Trusted Founder is inteviewed by Saskatoon Star Phoenix and Global Regina as www.trustedregina.com launches to public

posted by Trusted Regina    |   April 22, 2012 21:29
Websites help identify trustworthy businesses
By Jenn Sharp, The StarPhoenix April 19, 2012

Sara Wheelwright began Trusted Saskatoon less than a year ago and launched Trusted Regina on Monday. The websites are a service directory of businesses Wheelwright and her staff have fully researched. Trusted partners are held accountable for their business dealings and contribute tips and advice to the website for consumers. Along with the sites are blogs full of mystery shopping reviews conducted by the Trusted staff and a YouTube channel. Here, Wheelwright tells StarPhoenix business reporter Jenn Sharp how she's grown her business so fast and why she started it.

Q: What's the concept of Trusted Saskatoon?
A: I thought there was a gap in the market. I have an 18year background in advertising. I wanted to provide something that works for the public - an agency that finds businesses that deserve the promotion and informs the public about them in a different way. People are going online for answers now. We want to make the whole process simple. We chose the 40 most-used advertising categories. When they go to our site they have a choice of a maximum of three in each category. We try to find different personalities for mortgage specialists and real estate agents. We also demand a lot from the Trusted partners. We become a group that works for each other. If any of the partners lets us down it affects everybody. They're contracted to uphold the five Trusted guarantees. They're told that if we get a complaint and it's found they've done something with intent or lost integrity, they'll be removed immediately from the site. We don't mess around.

Q: Why do you only have three per category?
A: We're trying to make the process easy. If you have 10, how do you choose? The listings are very comprehensive. The testimonials are from surveys we do with clients. We ask for 25 clients' names and numbers from each of the businesses. We then call a portion of them and we're looking from good to great reviews. We're talking to the public and they tell us great stories about their dealings with the businesses. We use those testimonials to start off the listings - real testimonials from real people. I think we're the only place online that qualifies these testimonials because we're speaking to the people ourselves.

Q: How many staff do you employ?
A: I have four lovely ladies. Two are based in Saskatoon and two in Regina. As we expand, I'm going to be solidifying the province first of all and then going into Alberta, starting with Calgary, we'll be taking on more staff. There's a lot of work to signing up companies. We're constantly in touch with the partners and asking them for tips for the site. People do research online before they buy. It's much nicer to have people in Saskatoon or Regina giving potential customers tips before they buy. It's elevating our partners as the experts and getting them engaged with the public.

Q: How did you come up with the idea?
A: I moved here from England in 2006. When you immigrate to the middle of Canada, it's not worth the freight so I had sold everything I owned in England and came over with clothes and shoes - all the important things! I had to fill a house with everything. The excitement of shopping wore off because it's really not what it was when I was back in England and I knew the shops. It was so labour intensive. I stumbled upon some good ones but a lot of the smaller businesses don't have the budget to get your attention. I had some bad experiences. It's easy to do business when things go easy. Once things don't that's really the difference between a good and a great business. One of the things that I always speak about with the trusted partners is that nobody should be in a position of loss because they chose to deal with you. That's a foundation of Trusted Saskatoon.

Q: You're expanding rapidly - how have you done this?
A: Trusted Saskatoon launched May 30 last year. Scotia Bank is a preferred bank of immigration and they hand out flyers to immigrants that come to see them. We focus on everybody because everybody has those moments where a need arises and they don't know who to turn to. We also run ads on community radio on the weekend in every single foreign language show. On seven of the shows we have the ad voiced in the language of the show. An old marketing term is 'speak to the dog in the language of the dog.' One of the things that you miss as a new person coming to a new country is your language, your food and your music. That's a way to engage with the immigrant population who, a lot of the time, become insulated because they've been ripped off. We get a lot of people looking at auto repair and service too. A lot of our fans on Facebook are women. I think we appeal more to women because they tend to be the ones that do the calling. This started because I got ripped off when I first came here by a plumbing company. Thanks to that company that was the big kick to put this idea down on paper. I got a phone call from one of my contractors who's amazed at how many calls he gets - about one a day. He said that his business, since last year, has grown 400 per cent. He went from employing one guy to three crews. More importantly, he's making sure that he instils that integrity and honesty in the people that work for him. Those are the people that deserve this recognition.

BERGENS AUTO BODY a REGINA AUTO BODY EXPERT, offers a Tip on Color matching, on the Regina Directory

posted by Trusted Regina    |   April 7, 2012 18:07

Bergens are a local family business and from the moment you walk in the door you will be treated like family!

They are proud to have an amazing 80 Years Auto Body Experience, and they have been serving Regina Auto Body needs for over 30 Years....they have a loyal customer base that simply wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Bergen's are an SGI Accredited Regina Auto Body and Collision Repair shop They offer courtesy cars to their clients and they specialize in foreign vehicles

Here John from Bergens  shares a Trusted REGINA AUTO BODY Tip on Color Matching!

Let's say you get a little scratch or a ding on your car. You'd like to match the exact color to have it repaired and looking good. If your car is older, the colors might not be easy to find. So how do you match auto paint?

First, you need to know a few things about automotive paint:

•Automotive paint is made of resin, pigment and solvent.

•Resin determines the durability of your paint and the quality of the application [source: autobodysupply].

•Solvent provides the right amount of viscosity, so the paint can be applied [source: autobodysupply].

•Pigment comes in powder form and includes colors or toners that are mixed together to give the finish.

When choosing a color to match your car:

1.Find the color code for the original paint on your car. You'll need the manufacturer's name, the car's model number and the year the car was manufactured. With this information, you may be able to find your car's color code on the manufacturer's Web sites, but it depends on the age of your car. You can also find your car's color code on the car's identification plate (sometimes called the Service Parts Identification) [source: robertspaintcare].

2.Take the color code to an auto body supply shop or repair shop and order the paint. Keep in mind that some cars may have two tones and need two or more paint colors [source: autobodysupply].

3.Mix the paint until you get the exact color you need: start with the variations in lightness and darkness and adjust the hue until it matches.

Always blend the color to achieve a color match. Even if the color looks close enough, blend it! Remember, you don't want the color of the spot you're repairing to be too light or too dark, and you have a lot of variables to deal with. Matching the exact color is especially important when spot repairing. Check out the You Tube Video below for more tips!

Bergen's GUARANTEE that you will be treated to both friendly service and quality workmanship....and after speaking to their clients we can definitely say that they do all they claim and all in a style all of their own! Trusted Regina brags about EMERALD PARK HOMES a Trusted REGINA & AREA HOME BUILDER.on the REGINA DIRECTORY.

posted by Trusted Regina    |   April 7, 2012 15:32

www.trustedregina.com launches to the public on April 16th 2012 ...we are so happy to already be able to offer the Regina public 62 Trusted options on the REGINA DIRECTORY..and more to come before we launch, with the goal being to offer 120 Trusted listings eventually,  plus other Trusted banner advertisers in different categories to REGINA ..and by doing so make the publics lives EASIER by taking all the guess work ( and leg work) away.....you see, we do all the work for them..we work FOR the CONSUMER not the business..

Buying a home is generally the biggest purchase you will make, and BUILDING a home is many peoples dream.....but unfortunately all too often that dream turns into a nightmare ..just type ' Home Builder Horror Stories' or 'Home Building Nightmares' into Google ..and you will see the sites dedicated to these horrific stories of peoples experiences building a home..it really is almost enough to put you off even starting the process in the first place.

There are so many things that can go wrong when building a home ...not least because so many different trades are involved ..and without careful and meticulous planning between all of these different trades ( sometimes different companies all together) communication fails and costs start to escalate...then to keep things on budget corners can get cut....the snowball starts rolling down the hill and good luck trying to stop it!

Fortunately the 3 REGINA Home Builders we give ' The thumbs up'  to on www.trustedregina.com will make the home building process STRESS free..and our final Trusted Regina Home builder is no exception!

Emerald Park Homes

Have you been out to countless show homes and you just can't find what you are looking for? Not enough bedrooms. Not enough bathrooms. Garage too small. Lot too big.Its SO hard to find just the right home in just the right location. That's why EMERALD PARK HOMES specialize in building customized homes to suit your needs. Emerald Park Homes had been mentioned and nominated quite a few times by other Trusted partners, and in the end it was Jason Campbell from Campbell Custom Homes in Saskatoon ( a Trusted Saskatoon home builder) who is originally from Regina and has known the owners Garry and Lorena Sawchyn for many years,  who eventually got us in contact with them...luckily for us ( and Trusted Regina ) they ' got ' the Trusted concept immediately, as it really fits in with the way they run their business and live their lives! They are forward thinking and are always looking at ways to improve!

Garry and Lorena work together as a home building dream team, to meet all your needs and more...Garry has over 30 years of hands on construction experience and he is dedicated to detail, while Lorena runs a super efficient office with apparent ease ( or thats how she makes it look anyway!) . The feedback from their clients was wonderful..all feel so blessed to have found and choosen Emerald Park Homes, as they really did make the home building experience a pleasure from day one...in fact, many of them consider the Sawchyn's friends...and all of them wouldn't hesitate to choose Emerald Park Homes if they had to go back and do it all over again!

An example of that would be Sarah and Jarrett Kozusko, living in Alberta, they began to plan their move to Saskatchewan a couple of years ago, they turned, as so many potential home buyers do, to the Internet. They were searching for a builder who could interpret their visions of the perfect family home, and by a stroke of luck, they found Emerald Park Homes.

The Kozusko's stunning home.

The Emerald Park Homes way of doing things is pretty simple.. “No Salesmen—No passing the buck—Deal with the owner, Garry Sawchyn.” and that really appealed to them ...in fact Garry was on site practically every day and kept them up top date with where things were at....he's not the kind of builder that you have to chase down to ask questions..he call to answer everything you want to know before you have a chance to ask!

The attractions of the White City/ Emerald Park community were obvious to Sarah and Jarrett Kozusko, and one of the lots offered by Emerald Park Homes presented the perfect setting for the family home they envisioned. A haven for two busy professional people, a showplace where they could entertain friends as they enjoy doing, and a safe and happy place for their children. Thanks to the workmanship that makes Emerald Park Homes a trusted name in Saskatchewan home building and the fact that each tradesperson used by the company is carefully chosen for skill and workmanship. “This is our Forever House,” Sarah declared. “There’s nothing I would change.” “It’s the perfect home for our family,” her husband Jarrett agreed. Thanks to Emerald Park Homes, they have a dream house in an excellent location, where they and their two children can enjoy all the rewards that life might offer.....

The Kozusko's Dream Emerald Park Home

Trusted has every confidence that if you choose Emerald Park Homes as your Trusted Regina Home builder ...you will have a simply wonderful Home building experience ..in face we Guarantess it!

Welcme Garry and Lorena..we look forward to sharing your Tips and expertise with the Regina public  and we are thrilled to have Emerald Park Homes on board the Regina Directory of excellence!

Shear Escape your Trusted REGINA SALON share a Trusted Tip on Spring Hair tips on the REGINA DIRECTORY

posted by Trusted Regina    |   April 6, 2012 07:47
From the friendly and welcoming receptionists to the stylists and estheticians who genuinely care about giving you the service you deserve, the amazing team at Shear Escape Salon and Spa have created a warm and relaxing atmosphere for their guests to be pampered in. This full service Regina salon offers hair cut and color for men and women as well as makeup, pedicures, nails, facials, waxing and many more Signature Services.

All Trusted Buisnesses believe that communication, skill and passion for outstanding service are the simple ingredients required to make every one of their clients happy.

Trusted Tip ... on what to do to help your hair look it's best this Spring!

With spring here, we've got some great tips for you to make sure your hair looking it's best. Healthy hair is beautiful hair. After a dry winter, you may feel like your hair is looking a little lackluster. We have some helpful advice to get your hair looking shiny and healthy again!

  • Try skipping your daily shampoo. Over-cleansing can strip your hair of it's natural oils, leaving it feeling dried out. Instead, try washing every other day. For colored hair, use color care products that prevent fading and remove dulling build-up without stripping your shade.
  • Instead of rubbing your hair with a towel after shampooing, which can cause damage and breakage, wrap the towel around your hair and let it absorb the moisture.
  •  Before drying your hair, try applying a healing oil. Our products are from Redken , and there are products in their range that heal damage and replenishes keratin from the inside out,  moisturize, boost hair's strength and elasticity, reduces drying time, protects against heat, UVA/ UVB/ UVC rays, and blocks humidity, reducing frizz.

  • Get regular trims. Getting your hair trimmed on a regular basis will help your style looking fresh and thicker, since breakage contributes to thinning at the bottom. Regular trims will keep your hair overall in better condition.
  • Ask your stylist about a color glaze or demi-permanent color. They are a gentle alternative to permanent color, add tons of shine, and deliver soft, natural results.

  • We tend to want to lighten up once the weather heats up. Hi-lights are beautiful and possible to achieve with minimal damage. It is important to understand how light you can realistically go. It may be a gradual process that takes more than one visit. Always be realistic and trust your stylists advice. Rememeber blond hair is beautiful, when you aren't taking it home in a bag.
  • If your curly hair is feeling dry and frizzy, it may be time to change up your product and routine. Curly hair is craving moisture. The more moisture, the softer and more defined your curls will be. Try squeezing excess moisure out of your wet hair with a micro-fiber towel, or use an old t-shirt. A regular terry-cloth towel will only create more frizz.

You can Find Shear Escape at Shoppers Lanmdmark Mall, Albert st, Regina, online at www.shearescape.ca or you can Check out their listing here in the Salon category on THE REGINA DIRECTORY directory of experts. They are YOUR Trusted Salon and Hair experts right here in Regina!
