Trusted Tips & Resources

Our Trusted Regina partner Jacuzzi Hot Tubs Regina shares a tip on when and how you should clean your hot tub.

WHEN AND HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY HOT TUB?

Getting into a hot tub after a tiring day at work can certainly relax your entire body. However, even the most exquisite spas need a good cleaning every now and then. One of the best ways to ensure that your hot tub stays clean is to create a routine schedule, and stick to it. With regular cleaning of the tub, you’ll realize it isn’t troublesome at all to keep a very clean area for you and your family to enjoy.

DRAINING YOUR SPA

Hot tubs run at an optimal temperature for mold and bacteria to flourish. They can grow on the sides of your tub and within the system itself. Therefore, it’s imperative that you flush the lines of your hot tub regularly. This basically means running a cleaner through the system regularly to keep it cleaner than ever before! You can find quality cleaners and similar products available at Jacuzzi Hot Tubs of Regina.

Common side effects of not cleaning your spa can include cloudy water, decreased water pressure or strain on the motor. These should wither off once you develop the habit of cleaning the lines regularly. The procedure may differ according to your cleaner choice and hot tub model. Always refer to the specific instructions provided with the products and/or spa, or ask one of our experts at Jacuzzi Hot Tubs of Regina for more information!

DISCONNECT THE POWER SOURCE

Next, you should disconnect the power. Leaving the power source connected while draining and cleaning your spa can be detrimental to the entire system. It could result in several issues, including:

  • Broken pumps
  • Damaged circuit breaker
  • Reduced longevity or performance

Refer to instructions included with your spa to safely disconnect the power source. This simple step could save you tons of unnecessary costs down the road.

DRAINING THE WATER

This should be done according to the instructions that come with your hot tub. You can use a built-in sump pump or a drain plug for this purpose, however many manufacturers do recommend leaving the foot-well of your hot tub full of water. In case that flushing the lines leaves a cloudy discharge, it’s important that you empty your tub completely to remove any bad particles or debris.

CLEAN THE HOT TUB

After the initial rinsing of the tub, it’s time to clean! Sanitize your system using various hot tub cleaners, rags or spa scrub brushes. Gently scrub off all the dirt and grime with your rag or even a sponge. You can use variety of cleaners from Jacuzzi Hot Tubs of Regina, and form a mixture to clean the insides of your tub. Be sure to use soft sponges to avoid causing any damage to the surface or the shell of cabinetry.

After the scrubbing, comes the more technical part of cleaning. Take out the filters from the cabinet in which your pump is located. You might have to unscrew a few bolts, so you should keep the necessary equipment by your side. After removing the filters, gently spray them with a garden hose. Afterwards, scrub them with a dichloride solution and then place it in an oil cutting solution for at least half an hour for maximum results.

Our Trusted Regina partner TSL Construction shares why hiring a professional window and door installer can help you avoid large headaches and cost in the end

TSL Construction has built their construction company on honesty and integrity and that will never be compromised.

This is why most of their business has come from repeat customers and referrals.

TSL Construction are TRUSTED REGINA Renovation professionals for inside and outside your home!!

Many of us debate about hiring a professional or doing it ourselves.  Our Trusted Regina partner TSL Construction shares why hiring a professional window and door installer can help you avoid large headaches and cost in the end.  The examples below are just two of TSL Constructions most recent Fix after the fact jobs that could have been avoided.

One of TSL Constructions recent customers had a friend measure and order windows for his apartment complex. We were called in to install the windows and order the remaining windows for the building.  Unfortunately, once my team and I arrived it was discovered that the windows previously measured and ordered by the friend were incorrect.

This is an image of the before windows.

This was also a custom order and so our new customer is unable to return the windows and has to deal with a wasted investment of windows that will not fit.  In order to remedy the issue properly we had to go and remeasure the area, order and install the new windows.  So in the end this customer ended up having a much larger headache and financial loss.

Here is an image after we completed the job.
