CNG Stone Products wants to turn your dreams into reality...the dreams you have for your countertops that is!

They are your TRUSTED REGINA GRANITE COUNTERTOP EXPERTS and you'll find them in the Regina Kitchen Category

Here Scott answers questions about countertops from the Trusted Regina Facebook fans

Daniel B: Scott - How do you know how often granite has to be re-sealed? Do you offer this service, and how much should someone expect to pay?

We will seal granite when we do the install and will warranty that for the next 15 years. Sealing is a 15 minute process that any home owner could do if they wanted. Not sure I would pay to have it done!!

Ann Lyte-Maille: Scott, Is there some standard height for counters in the kitchen? I bought a dishwasher that was supposed to go under the couner but it doesn't fit? is there an affordable way to fix that without having to get all new counters?

There is no standard code height as far as I am aware. A typical kitchen is around 36” high and after speaking with a couple of cabinet people, they do get adjusted based on a range or dishwasher. I’m not sure what happened in your case but if you have a floor under the dishwasher, could it be modified or removed so that it would fit?

Jamie Dawn Plummer: What is the best counter top to have for those of us who "forget" to use a cutting board at the best of times?

My wife gets upset at me because I rarely use a cutting board on our granite. I have no fear of hurting my granite, but cutting on it will dull and ruin the knives quickly if they can’t be sharpened.

M Liz Beisel: I have new granite countertops - should the backsplash area be caulked or not? I have heard yes and no to my question! Thanks!

We typically only silicone granite to granite, but yes the backsplash should be caulked to seal everything off. Because there are so many options with respect to color, we leave this for the home owner to do unless asked.

Victoria Wong Scott( The winning question!) :Our house was built in 2011 and we would like to upgrade the kitchen countertops to granite. Is there a way to do this without ripping out the backsplash?

You should be able to get the countertops out without damaging the backsplash. If there is a grout line between the tile and the countertop, you will have to have that fixed after the new countertops go in. The biggest problem you may have is the your countertops are likely 1 ½” thick right now and granite/quartz is 3cm thick, which is just shy of 1 ¼”. There may be a gap between the countertop and tile, but there are some easy fixes for that.

Dawn Marie Barker :if changing laminate counter to granite, will my cupboards beneath it need to be reinforced to accommodate the weight? Thanks!

As long as you have a minimum of ½” verticle gable support, you should be okay. Having said that, we will visit your house free of charge for a quote (and most companies should) and we could look at everything at that time. Having said that, in over 2800 installs, we’ve only had to reinforce cabinets twice, so it’s likely that it will be okay.

Bruce Voldeng: Scott- I need a new countertop in my bathroom. What is the best type (granite, marble etc) and what type of sink (the ones that sit on top, regular or sunken)do you recommend for it?

We encourage our customers to find the color and pattern that they are looking for and if it’s granite, it’s granite and if it’s quartz, it’s quartz. Both products are extremely durable and will last you a lifetime. So pick the one you love the most, and go with that!!

Steve Gurski: Scott I need to redo counter tops how do I get the top off to put the new stuff on? in major need of work to be done so even if I dont win this Scott I may get in touch.

Steve, no worries, as part of our quotes, removal of up to an hour is included in the price. Newer countertops are screwed in from the bottom, and older ones are always interesting!

Jill Krause Scott: I have heard about the granite transformation that is an overlay over your existing countertop. Can you give your opinion on this and how affordable is it?

Let my caveat this by saying I don’t know their product. However, I believe it’s important to sell your product and not bash or spread untruths about others. Granite or quartz countertops will be installed in one day. While I don’t think you want to hang around and watch, your kitchen/bathrooms will be perfect when do. Everything will be cleaned. Quartz does not need to be sealed and we will seal granite when we install it. We will provide a 15 year warranty against staining after that. The truth is, 65% of granite is so dense (hard) that sealing is pointless as nothing actually absorbs into the stone. The cost difference between the two products is minimal so I think putting the “real” product in your house is a better option. Granite is often imitated but it can not be duplicated…….

What Does March Madness Have to Do With Home Remodeling Every Spring?

March Madness takes over television sets across N. America. Arguably one of the busiest playoff series in college sports, March Madness shows the top college basketball teams fighting for the right to be called the NCAA champion. But what does March Madness have to do with home remodeling? Well, not only is March the start of one of the busiest seasons for home remodelers, but the playoff series also inspires men and women across the country to update their basements or “man caves” in order to enhance these spaces before the next season

For anyone considering basement remodeling, not much motivates the way March Madness does with the frenzy of game activity and various parties you may be hosting. Although it’s likely impossible to complete your remodel before the championship game this year, the playoff series is still perfect motivation for homeowners looking to change their space for next year.

March is also a popular time to start your basement remodel project so that the project can be completed by the end of summer, making the space ready for those long winter months and fall football season.

CNG Stone Products

Another wonderful addition to the Trusted Regina Directory is CNG Stone Products , they are situated on Scarth Street and are open 7 days a week ( Sunday by appointment ) to better serve you ..we are all so busy today and having weekend hours and flexibility is great ...Scott Tresek, the owner, has a great personality and it is obvious that he sincerely cares about his customers..in fact when Renee and Sara from Trusted were in presenting to him, we discussed what is expected of a Trusted partner , and when we were reading through the 5 Trusted Guarantees he was nodding along furiously ..." thats how we run this business" he said "I couldn't sleep at night if I felt a client was let down or unhappy with me,I really couldn't" ...Renee and I looked at each other and smiled ..we can always tell a Trusted business when we witness sincerity like that. ..it is amazing how many of our Trusted partners would have said exactly the same thing, and we knew then that CNG Stone defintely belonged on www.trustedregina.com

However after contracts are signed every business has to go through the verification / application procedure ..which is a pass or fail ...once we started speaking to CNG Stones Products we knew that they were going to pass easily....funny the first client we called gave them a 12 out of 10!  Cllck on the listing here http://www.trustedregina.com/listings/kitchens.aspx  to read Janice Cain's testimonial and the other 4 that we added to the listing ...difficult to choose which ones to use when they are all so great!

The bottom line here is, that CNG stone tick all the boxes when it comes to providing countertops.... kitchens, bathrooms at home or at work..they have a VAST selection to choose from, they know all the answers to your questions, the showroom and their attractive and well laid out website www.cngstone.com  give you inspiration, ideas and choices to suit any project you could throw at them..the boss is great, the staff are friendly, skillful, helpfull and hard working and all together that equals a great experience for YOU the consumer...that is what Trusted is all about ..Happy customers..NO risks and a positive , stressless buying experience!
