Plato said that "necessity, who is the mother of invention", and necessity is exactly what gave birth to the idea of KinderBuzz.com.

KinderBuzz.com founders, Jenelyn and Kathleen, met while playing at the neighbourhood playground with their sons. The two became fast friends, and discussed everything such as where to go for playdates, what to feed our fussy little eater, and how to deal with the men (ha ha). One topic that kept coming up was how time-consuming and difficult it was to find out about the local parenting scene in Regina. There just wasn't one source of information available. It turns out that they weren't the only parents in the city that felt that way. And so, KinderBuzz.com was born!

Lets introduce the team!

Jenelyn Santos Ong Partner & Director of Marketing & Communications

Jenelyn moved back to Saskatchewan in 2006 with her husband and then 9-month-old son. Originally from Saskatoon, she's frequently asked what she likes about Regina. And her response is always "the people are amazing!" She has very strong family values, and is thankful to have found a loving husband who supports her 100% (no matter how crazy her idea is)! Like so many parents, she's a multitasker as our marketing, communications & sales guru (at least she tries to be). She is also the Editor and writes an occasional article here and there. But more importantly, she's the mom to two energetic, clever, chatty children who always asks her, "Mom, why are you doing laundry again?" Jenelyn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, as well as a Business Administration Honours Diploma. She's worked in a variety of industries including oil & gas, sales training and non-profit.

Kathleen Fellinger Partner & Publisher

Kathleen's first foray into the world of publishing was at 7 years old when she crafted her very first story. She carefully bound the pages with string and covered it with left-over Christmas wrapping paper. Born was a little girl's ideas of what stories, design and creating things all on her own should be. Kathleen is the publisher, the other half of the KinderBuzz partnership, web designer, writer, creative phenom and mom of two! She was an Army brat growing up, travelling the world for Uncle Sam with her siblings having lived in Germany, England and all over the United States. She landed in Regina in 2002 and hasn't looked back since starting her family. Over ten years and a plethora of websites later, Kathleen's excitment for her craft is as fresh as it was when she first sat down to create her book at 7 years old. Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Certificate in Web Publishing.

Rita Holowenko Events Editor & Partner

Rita first moved to Regina for university, and after finding work and her husband here, she made Regina her home. Years later, her two current employers came into her life - her son and daughter. With them in tow, she discovered the many events that Regina has to offer. She is our resident know-it-all (and we mean that in a good way)! Not only does she keep us up-to-date with every family-friendly event going on in and around town, but she also keeps us in the loop about new products for kids that many of us don't know about yet. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge about Regina, as well as an avid interest in the arts. And she truly believes in the idea that "we may start as participants, but eventually we become a community". Rita has a Bachelor of Arts degree, and over 7 years of experience in the performing arts and convention industry.

Galon Insurance our Trusted Regina Insurance expert wins an award and recieves recognition from CAFE

posted by Trusted Regina    |   January 14, 2012 13:19

www.trustedregina.com is very proud to announce that Galon Insurance, our Trusted Regina Insurance partner has been honored by CAFE ( The Candian Association of Family Enterprise), as they win the Regina Family Enterprise of the year achievement award 2012!

REGINA -- "It was the kind of bold move you'd expect from a guy who had been a boxer in his youth. It was 1963 when John Galon and his wife sold their business in Moose Jaw and invested just about everything they had in buying A.T. Brown and Co., an insurance firm in Regina. It was a gamble - but one that paid off with their firm, now called Galon Insurance Brokers, not only surviving but receiving the 2012 Family Enterprise of the Year Achievement Award from the Regina chapter of the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise. The other two finalists for this award, presented Thursday night, were the Davis-Ward Centre for People Excellence and Robinson Residential Design. The story of Galon Insurance Brokers owes much to John Galon, who grew up as "a welfare baby" (as he put it in an advertisement decades ago), boxed competitively, served in the air force during the Second World War, then earned a commerce degree. His firm diversified into real estate holdings and sales, plus mortgages and insurance. When he died in May 2010, he was remembered not only for his business acumen, but for his many charitable and sports volunteer work, and for a 1982 run for the mayor's job, stressing tight financial management, economic development and securing the city's water supply. "His biggest thing was that all customers are basically friends - and relationships," says grandson Jason Galon, who today manages the firm, which has two offices in Regina and two more in Saskatoon. The Davis-Ward Centre for People Excellence, has been run for 18 years by the husband-and-wife team of Barry Davis and Wendy Ward, and specializes in training and development, including customer service and management skills, "train-the-trainer" coaching skills, executive coaching and personal development. Robinson Residential Design has been run by John and Janet Robinson for 15 years and focuses on the design of multi-family dwellings, interior design and structural drafting, notably cottages and homes - one of which led to a laudatory mention on HGTV's Sarah's Farmhouse series. Jason Galon said the lesson from the success of this family firm - with five family members involved in it - is simple. "The biggest thing is communication from the previous generation to the new generation in terms of long-term goals and commitment," he said. That should include the thorny question of whether younger members even want to get into the family business. Jason studied arts, not business, in university, but got into the insurance business right after graduation in order to "try it out." A decade later, "I certainly love what I do." (ref: Regina Leader Post Jan 13th 2012- Will Chabun)

Trusted Regina brags about OBASA SUITES ..the first Trusted Hotel listing on the REGINA DIRECTORY of excellence

posted by Trusted Regina    |   January 8, 2012 12:39

Trusted is proud to welcome it's latest Trusted Business to get the ' Thumbs up' from both the Saskatoon and Regina directory of excellence. Obasa suites, Obasa Premier Suites and Obasa Executive suites become our first Regina and second Saskatoon Hotel listings...and we are extremely proud to have them as a Trusted Partner.

Trusted believes they offer a wonderful alternative to the ' standard' hotel for those travellers and visitors staying more than a few days in Saskatoon or Regina. Perhaps you are moving to one of the cities from other parts of Canada or abroad and you have yet to find yourself and your family a permanent home......maybe you have a temporary work position or a company project that means you need a place for more than a week...even if you have family members visiting and no spare rooms to offer in your own home you can be assured Obasa will offer you a wonderful alternative....the clients we spoke to simply wouldn't stay anywhere else..read their testimonials that they agreed to share on the Obasa Listing here!

Lets face it once the initial adjustments and excitement wear off, standard hotel rooms offer little to a more permanent guest and renting a house or standard apartment come with responsibilties and 'minimum contracts', and staying with a friend or family member may not be ideal either ( especially with kids) ...to sum it up in one phrase Obasa offers a ' Home away from home' with the addition of maid service and all of the other mundane ' household responsibilities' taken care of...in the case of the executive suites ( especially their loft penthouse suite in Saskatoon) they offer luxury accomodation, with all of the best decor, appliances and wonderful location that would rival any hotel...or home!!

So, lets talk aboiut the elephant in the room..what does it cost vs a hotel ? Well first you must take in to account what you would pay for the hotel room...then if you are more than 2 or 3 people you may need to have 2 rooms or a more expensive suite... add meals every day in restaurants, parking etc..Obasa have it all laid out on their website here ...and they come in very reasonable..especially when you are talking 3 weeks or more..

Obasa Premier Suites cares about providing superior customer service to every client. Their friendly and knowledgeable Corporate Account Managers, Reservation Specialists, and Client Service Specialists will make doing business with them a refreshingly pleasant experience. They guarantee it!

Whether your needs are corporate or personal, book your stay with Obasa today....
